Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy Couplet in Regular Running Script by Chen Baochen was auctioned at Bonhams in Hong Kong in November 2020. The price achieved of HKD 38,250.00 (€ 4,129.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Baochen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy in April 2019 with an auction result of HKD 400,000.00 (€ 45,531.65).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 38.250,00 (€ 4.129,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Baochen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 400.000,00 (€ 45.531,65).
