Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two Padouk Drying Racks, 1952 by Charlotte Perriand was sold in the Jean Prouvé's Prototype Maison Tropicale and Works by Jean Prouvé,Charlotte Perriand, Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret from the Collection of Eric Touchaleaume auction at Christies in New York in June 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,160.00 (€ 1,597.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charlotte Perriand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Important “Bibliotheque Murale,” in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 314,500.00 (€ 254,264.69).

Die Arbeit Two Padouk Drying Racks, 1952 von Charlotte Perriand wurde im Juni 2007 in der Auktion Jean Prouvé's Prototype Maison Tropicale and Works by Jean Prouvé,Charlotte Perriand, Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret from the Collection of Eric Touchaleaume bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.160,00 (€ 1.597,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
