Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Charlotte Perriand achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in June 2007. In the Jean Prouvé's Prototype Maison Tropicale and Works by Jean Prouvé,Charlotte Perriand, Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret from the Collection of Eric Touchaleaume auction, the work A Pair of Padouk Coat Racks, 1956 sold for USD 14,400.00 (€ 10,650.89) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charlotte Perriand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Important “Bibliotheque Murale,” in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 314,500.00 (€ 254,264.69).
In der Auktion Jean Prouvé's Prototype Maison Tropicale and Works by Jean Prouvé,Charlotte Perriand, Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret from the Collection of Eric Touchaleaume wurde die Arbeit A Pair of Padouk Coat Racks, 1956 für USD 14.400,00 (€ 10.650,89) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00.
