Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Outsider and Vernacular Art, which included the work Spirit Figure by Charlie Willeto. The price achieved of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,619.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charlie Willeto have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two Figures in February last year with an auction result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,364.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spirit Figure von Charlie Willeto zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.619,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charlie Willeto auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two Figures im Februar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.364,22).
