Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2003 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included this untitled work by Charlie Tjapangati. The price achieved of AUD 3,055.00 (€ 1,691.08) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Charlie Tjapangati have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled, 2002 in May last year with an auction result of AUD 14,760.00 (€ 13,754.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2003 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Charlie Tjapangati zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 3.055,00 (€ 1.691,08) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charlie Tjapangati auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled, 2002 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 14.760,00 (€ 13.754,54).
