Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tingari Story - Yurru Turru by Charlie Tjapangati was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in May 2003. The price achieved of AUD 6,462.50 (€ 3,577.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 5,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charlie Tjapangati - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled, 2002, which sold at auction in May last year for AUD 14,760.00 (€ 13,754.54).

Die Arbeit Tingari Story - Yurru Turru von Charlie Tjapangati kam im Mai 2003 bei Christies in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 6.462,50 (€ 3.577,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Charlie Tjapangati mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled, 2002 beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für AUD 14.760,00 (€ 13.754,54) versteigert wurde.
