Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charlie Johnson Payne could be acquired at Bonhams in March this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Discovery Sale Online auction, the work 'An Irish yawner'; 'The stone faced 'Narrer-Back'', a pair image: the first 33.4 x 51.1cm (13 1/8 x 20 1/8in); the second 32.7 x 52.4cm (12 7/8 x 20 5/8in). (2) changed hands for GBP 140.25 (€ 159.56) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charlie Johnson Payne achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Glad Trong That Goes Laughing Along in December 2003 with an auction result of USD 33,460.00 (€ 26,561.88).

In der Auktion Discovery Sale Online wechselte die Arbeit 'An Irish yawner'; 'The stone faced 'Narrer-Back'', a pair image: the first 33.4 x 51.1cm (13 1/8 x 20 1/8in); the second 32.7 x 52.4cm (12 7/8 x 20 5/8in). (2) für GBP 140,25 (€ 159,56) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charlie Johnson Payne erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Glad Trong That Goes Laughing Along im Dezember 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 33.460,00 (€ 26.561,88).
