In October 2013 Christies in London held the auction Travel, Science & Natural History, which included the work Japanese Warriors by Charles Wirgman. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 20,625.00 (€ 24,378.59), 38% above the upper estimate. With this result, Japanese Warriors is even the most expensive work of art by Charles Wirgman that we have observed at auctions so far.
