Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Coming home from the races, Shanghai by Charles Wirgman was sold in the Travel, Science and Natural History auction at Christies in London in September 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,048.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Wirgman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Japanese Warriors in October 2013 with an auction result of GBP 20,625.00 (€ 24,378.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Coming home from the races, Shanghai von Charles Wirgman wurde im September 2010 in der Auktion Travel, Science and Natural History bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.048,12) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
