Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work On The Way To The Festival by Charles William Wyllie. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 25,461.60) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles William Wyllie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Backwater, which sold at auction in September 2019 for GBP 62,562.00 (€ 70,593.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit On The Way To The Festival von Charles William Wyllie zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 25.461,60) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles William Wyllie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Backwater beobachtet, die im September 2019 für GBP 62.562,00 (€ 70.593,80) versteigert wurde.
