The auction ended at the price of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 29,705.41), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles William Wyllie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Backwater, which sold at auction in September 2019 for GBP 62,562.00 (€ 70,593.80).
