Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study for the Equestrian Portrait of Field-Marshal Earl Roberts, K.G., V.C., O.M. (1832-1914) by Charles Wellington Furse was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,539.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Wellington Furse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work With the York and Ainsty - The Children of Mr Edward Lycett Green, M.F.H. in November 2017 with an auction result of GBP 668,750.00 (€ 759,130.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study for the Equestrian Portrait of Field-Marshal Earl Roberts, K.G., V.C., O.M.
