Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2004 Christies in London held the auction Victorian Pictures including The John H. Schaeffer, which included the work Portrait of the artist's wife, later Dame Katherine Furse, G.B.E, R.R.C. (1875-1952) by Charles Wellington Furse. The price achieved of GBP 11,950.00 (€ 17,785.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Wellington Furse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work With the York and Ainsty - The Children of Mr Edward Lycett Green, M.F.H. in November 2017 with an auction result of GBP 668,750.00 (€ 759,130.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian Pictures including The John H. Schaeffer durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of the artist's wife, later Dame Katherine Furse, G.B.E, R.R.C. (1875-1952) von Charles Wellington Furse zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 11.950,00 (€ 17.785,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Wellington Furse erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit With the York and Ainsty - The Children of Mr Edward Lycett Green, M.F.H. im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 668.750,00 (€ 759.130,74).
