Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Moving Off by Charles Walter Simpson was sold in the Sporting Art auction at Christies in New York in December 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,200.00 (€ 3,546.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Walter Simpson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Flight Of The Wild Duck in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,274.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Moving Off von Charles Walter Simpson wurde im Dezember 2005 in der Auktion Sporting Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.200,00 (€ 3.546,70) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Walter Simpson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Flight Of The Wild Duck im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.274,96).
