In November 2006 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art, Wildlife and Dogs, which included the work A Nesting Cormorant by Charles Walter Simpson. The result of GBP 300.00 (€ 445.51) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Walter Simpson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Flight Of The Wild Duck in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,274.96).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art, Wildlife and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Nesting Cormorant von Charles Walter Simpson zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 300,00 (€ 445,51) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Walter Simpson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Flight Of The Wild Duck im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.274,96).
