In July 2003 Christies in London held the auction Twentieth Century British Art, which included the work The Rebel Powers That Thee Array by Charles Sims. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,935.00 (€ 6,450.38), 41% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Sims have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work In Elysium in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 36,000.00 (€ 53,428.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 41 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Twentieth Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Rebel Powers That Thee Array von Charles Sims zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.935,00 (€ 6.450,38) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Sims auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit In Elysium im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 36.000,00 (€ 53.428,51).
