Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Kiss by Charles Sims was sold in the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction at Sothebys in London in July 2016. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 21,250.00 (€ 25,249.60), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Sims - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work In Elysium , which sold at auction in December 2006 for GBP 36,000.00 (€ 53,428.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Kiss von Charles Sims wurde im Juli 2016 in der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 25.249,60) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Sims mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit In Elysium beobachtet, die im Dezember 2006 für GBP 36.000,00 (€ 53.428,51) versteigert wurde.
