Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The garden of the Hesperides by Charles Sims was sold in the The Neil Wilson Collection: A Romantic Vision auction at Christies in London in September 2014. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,766.11) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Sims achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In Elysium in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 36,000.00 (€ 53,428.51).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.766,11) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00.
