In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Travel and Vintage Posters, which included the work Atlantic Coast Express by Charles Shepherd. The result of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,390.00) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Other works by Charles Shepherd have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2012 the work The Golden Arrow, Pullman was auctioned for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,311.64).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Travel and Vintage Posters durch, in der auch die Arbeit Atlantic Coast Express von Charles Shepherd zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.390,00) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Charles Shepherd konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2012 die Arbeit The Golden Arrow, Pullman für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.311,64) versteigert.
