Upper estimate price exceeded by 67 %.
The work Mount Erebus from the south east by Charles Seymour Wright was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2010. It achieved a price of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,156.61), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 67%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Seymour Wright achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British Antarctic Expedition, 1910-13: Wright's photographs -- a large collection of approximately 1,573 vintage contact prints and gelatin silver prints by Wright and other of Ponting's pupils at Cape Evans in September 2010 with an auction result of GBP 73,250.00 (€ 84,721.40).
