In July 2007 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings, which included the work Castle Of Canero, Lago Maggiore; Capri by Charles Rowbotham. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,208.10), 44% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Rowbotham - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Castelamare, Bay of Naples, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 6,110.00 (€ 9,986.55).

Im Juli 2007 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Castle Of Canero, Lago Maggiore; Capri von Charles Rowbotham zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.160,00 (€ 3.208,10) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Rowbotham mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Castelamare, Bay of Naples beobachtet, die im November 2000 für GBP 6.110,00 (€ 9.986,55) versteigert wurde.
