It achieved a price of GBP 1,527.50 (€ 2,193.09), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 27%. Admittedly, works by Charles Rowbotham have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Castelamare, Bay of Naples in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 6,110.00 (€ 9,986.55).
