This artwork by Charles Rennie Mackintosh achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2017. In the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art auction, the work Sketch for a block of studios and flats for the Arts League of Service, Glebe Place, Chelsea sold for GBP 15,625.00 (€ 17,435.10) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Rennie Mackintosh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Hill Town in Southern France in October 2004 with an auction result of GBP 94,850.00 (€ 136,515.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Rennie Mackintosh erzielte im Juli 2017 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art wurde die Arbeit Sketch for a block of studios and flats for the Arts League of Service, Glebe Place, Chelsea für GBP 15.625,00 (€ 17.435,10) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Rennie Mackintosh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Hill Town in Southern France im Oktober 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 94.850,00 (€ 136.515,24).
