Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2013 Christies in London held the auction Vintage Posters, which included the work Staines, Weybridge, Kingston by Charles Pears. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 900.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 750.00 (€ 876.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Pears achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mauretania in May 2019 with an auction result of GBP 38,812.00 (€ 43,932.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Vintage Posters durch, in der auch die Arbeit Staines, Weybridge, Kingston von Charles Pears zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 750,00 (€ 876,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Pears erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mauretania im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.812,00 (€ 43.932,86).
