Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work A cutter in a heavy swell, a four-masted barque beyond by Charles Pears. The price achieved of GBP 2,550.00 (€ 3,021.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Pears achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mauretania in May 2019 with an auction result of GBP 38,812.00 (€ 43,932.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A cutter in a heavy swell, a four-masted barque beyond von Charles Pears zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.550,00 (€ 3.021,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Pears erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mauretania im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.812,00 (€ 43.932,86).
