Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2012 Christies in London held the auction Posters With A Purpose: The London Transport Museum Sale, which included the work Southend-On-Sea by Charles Pears. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,709.57) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Pears achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mauretania in May 2019 with an auction result of GBP 38,812.00 (€ 43,932.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Posters With A Purpose: The London Transport Museum Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Southend-On-Sea von Charles Pears zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.709,57) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Pears erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mauretania im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.812,00 (€ 43.932,86).
