Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles Pears could be acquired at Christies in London in October 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Posters With A Purpose: The London Transport Museum Sale auction, the work Port of London By Tramways changed hands for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,554.16) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Pears achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mauretania in May 2019 with an auction result of GBP 38,812.00 (€ 43,932.86).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Pears konnte im Oktober 2012 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Posters With A Purpose: The London Transport Museum Sale wechselte die Arbeit Port of London By Tramways für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.554,16) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Pears erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mauretania im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.812,00 (€ 43.932,86).
