Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A winter landscape with figures on the ice by Charles Leickert was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 24,703.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Leickert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work At the 'koek en zopie' in a panoramic winter landscape in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 132,250.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A winter landscape with figures on the ice von Charles Leickert kam im Juli 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 24.703,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Leickert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit At the 'koek en zopie' in a panoramic winter landscape im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 132.250,00.
