Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Bonhams in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Milton's Cottage, Chalfont St. Giles, Buckinghamshire by Charles Leaver. The price achieved of GBP 2,422.50 (€ 2,872.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Leaver - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Winter at Littleham, near Exmouth, Devon, which sold at auction in August 2011 for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,764.08).
