Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2010 Christies in London held the auction Victorian and British Impressionist Art, which included the work Sheep resting in a wooded landscape, a church in the distance by Charles Leaver. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,736.21). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Leaver - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Winter at Littleham, near Exmouth, Devon, which sold at auction in August 2011 for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,764.08).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sheep resting in a wooded landscape, a church in the distance von Charles Leaver zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.736,21) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Leaver mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Winter at Littleham, near Exmouth, Devon beobachtet, die im August 2011 für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.764,08) versteigert wurde.
