Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles R. Knight could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations auction, the work In the Cuillins changed hands for GBP 480.00 (€ 712.91) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Admittedly, works by Charles R. Knight have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Seated Puma in September 2002 with an auction result of USD 3,346.00 (€ 3,386.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles R. Knight konnte im Juli 2007 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations wechselte die Arbeit In the Cuillins für GBP 480,00 (€ 712,91) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles R. Knight auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Seated Puma im September 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.346,00 (€ 3.386,98).
