Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A gentleman, a member of the Golubiev family, in blue naval uniform, gold-embroidered black collar, wearing a blue-edged white sash, the cross of the Imperial Russian Order of St. Anne (2nd class) around his neck and another badge, possibly that of t by Charles-Joseph de la Celle was sold in the Important Portrait Miniatures and Gold Boxes auction at Christies in London in November 2007. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,500 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,750 (€ 3,851). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles-Joseph de la Celle - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work , which sold at auction in June 2018 for GBP 12,500 (€ 14,127).

Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.500 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.750 (€ 3.851) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles-Joseph de la Celle mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit beobachtet, die im Juni 2018 für GBP 12.500 (€ 14.127) versteigert wurde.
