Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Broccoli Sale Queen by Charles Jones was sold in the Photographs auction at Bonhams in New York in October 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,189.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Jones achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Morning Visit in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 16,730.00 (€ 24,041.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Broccoli Sale Queen von Charles Jones wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Photographs bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.189,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Jones erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Morning Visit im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.730,00 (€ 24.041,92).
