Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2000 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work Engstelen See by Charles Jones Way. The price achieved of GBP 293.75 (€ 480.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250.00 – 350.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Jones Way achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Matterhorn from the Riffel in September 2007 with an auction result of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,962.04).

Im November 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Engstelen See von Charles Jones Way zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 293,75 (€ 480,12) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 250,00 – 350,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Jones Way erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Matterhorn from the Riffel im September 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 8.962,04).
