This artwork by Charles Jones Way achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2005. In the Travel and Natural History auction, the work Indians shooting a Rapid at Pont Neuf, Gulf of St Lawrence; and In the Deep River, Upper Ottowa sold for GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,817.74) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Jones Way - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Matterhorn from the Riffel, which sold at auction in September 2007 for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,962.04).

Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Jones Way mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Matterhorn from the Riffel beobachtet, die im September 2007 für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 8.962,04) versteigert wurde.
