Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2000 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Piccadilly Circus, London by Charles James Lauder. The price achieved of GBP 152.75 (€ 245.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25.00 – 200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles James Lauder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Royal Exchange in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 2,987.50 (€ 4,678.47).
