Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Charles Houghton Howard achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in October 2013. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work The Aimant sold for USD 31,250.00 (€ 22,988.08) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Houghton Howard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Winter Painting, which sold at auction in April 2014 for USD 125,000.00 (€ 90,122.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Charles Houghton Howard erzielte im Oktober 2013 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture wurde die Arbeit The Aimant für USD 31.250,00 (€ 22.988,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Houghton Howard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Winter Painting beobachtet, die im April 2014 für USD 125.000,00 (€ 90.122,57) versteigert wurde.
