Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours including Original Book, which included the work A Sussex lane by Charles Harrington. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 466.05 (€ 659.59), 17% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Harrington - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cley Church, Norfolk, which sold at auction in March 2002 for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,920.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours including Original Book durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Sussex lane von Charles Harrington zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 466,05 (€ 659,59) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Harrington mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cley Church, Norfolk beobachtet, die im März 2002 für GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.920,82) versteigert wurde.
