In November 2002 Christies in Los Angeles held the auction CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS, which included the work Cowboys at Work by Charles George Copeland. The price achieved of USD 4,182.50 (€ 4,211.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Cowboys at Work is the most expensive artwork by Charles George Copeland that we have observed at auctions so far.
