In November 2021 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Country School House by Charles Ephraim Burchfield. The »bidding war« ended at USD 300,000.00 (€ 265,792.50), 67% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Ephraim Burchfield have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cherry Blossom Snow in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 1,812,500.00 (€ 1,553,127.68).

Im November 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Country School House von Charles Ephraim Burchfield zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 300.000,00 (€ 265.792,50) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Ephraim Burchfield auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cherry Blossom Snow im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.812.500,00 (€ 1.553.127,68).
