Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Ancient Maples in August by Charles Ephraim Burchfield. It changed hands for a price of USD 143,750.00 (€ 127,358.91) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Ephraim Burchfield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cherry Blossom Snow in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 1,812,500.00 (€ 1,553,127.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ancient Maples in August von Charles Ephraim Burchfield zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 143.750,00 (€ 127.358,91) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Ephraim Burchfield erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Cherry Blossom Snow im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.812.500,00 (€ 1.553.127,68).
