Auction result well in line with expectations
The work French A Greek Beauty by Emile Charles Lecomte-Vernet was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2008. The price achieved of USD 46,000.00 (€ 29,547.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Emile Charles Lecomte-Vernet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French aimée, A Young Egyptian, which sold at auction in November 2010 for USD 92,500.00 (€ 70,957.35).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 46.000,00 (€ 29.547,79) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden.
