Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Feeding The Ducks by Charles Edward Wilson was sold in the British and Continental Pictures auction at Sothebys in London in March 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,500.00 (€ 5,653.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Charles Edward Wilson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Home Sweet Home in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,149.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Feeding The Ducks von Charles Edward Wilson wurde im März 2008 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.500,00 (€ 5.653,12) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Edward Wilson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Home Sweet Home im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.600,00 (€ 23.149,62).
