It achieved a price of GBP 6,500.00 (€ 8,165.61), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 30%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Edward Wilson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Home Sweet Home, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,149.62).

Die Arbeit Bird Tickling von Charles Edward Wilson kam im März 2008 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 6.500,00 (€ 8.165,61) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 30%. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles Edward Wilson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Home Sweet Home beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 15.600,00 (€ 23.149,62) versteigert wurde.
