Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A milkmaid and geese before a cottage in a wooded landscape by Charles Edward Wilson was sold in the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction at Christies in London in May 2001. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,151.86) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Charles Edward Wilson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Home Sweet Home in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,149.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A milkmaid and geese before a cottage in a wooded landscape von Charles Edward Wilson wurde im Mai 2001 in der Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.880,00 (€ 3.151,86) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Edward Wilson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Home Sweet Home im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.600,00 (€ 23.149,62).
