Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The last tense minutes of the "Ark Royal": A destroyer hitches alongside the sinking warship by Charles E. Turner was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2014. The price achieved of GBP 687.50 (€ 877.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles E. Turner - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work R.A.F Display, which sold at auction in October 2012 for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,331.23).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 687,50 (€ 877,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Charles E. Turner mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit R.A.F Display beobachtet, die im Oktober 2012 für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.331,23) versteigert wurde.
