Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Charles E. Turner could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours auction, the work Cover Design For 'The Illustrated London News': The Golden Hind - Symbol of A Golden Age changed hands for GBP 120.00 (€ 178.20) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles E. Turner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work R.A.F Display in October 2012 with an auction result of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,331.23).
