Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Idle Gossip Beside An Italian Lake (Illustrated); And Figures On The Italian Coast by Charles Rowbotham was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours auction at Christies in London in September 2004. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,673.00 (€ 2,437.35). Admittedly, works by Charles Rowbotham have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Castelamare, Bay of Naples in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 6,110.00 (€ 9,986.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Idle Gossip Beside An Italian Lake (Illustrated); And Figures On The Italian Coast von Charles Rowbotham wurde im September 2004 in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.673,00 (€ 2.437,35) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Charles Rowbotham auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Castelamare, Bay of Naples im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.110,00 (€ 9.986,55).
