In December this year Bonhams in London held the auction FootballThe Beautiful Game, which included the work A Cup Tie At Crystal Palace, Corinthians V Manchester City by Charles Ernest Cundall. The price achieved of GBP 127,400.00 (€ 146,759.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A Cup Tie At Crystal Palace, Corinthians V Manchester City is the most expensive artwork by Charles Ernest Cundall that we have observed at auctions so far.
