Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2014 Christies in New York held the auction Two Distinguished American Collections:The Estate of the Hon. Noreen Drexel, Newport, R.I., The Estate of Van Cliburn, Fort Worth, TX, which included the work Louth-London Royal Mail by Charles Cooper Henderson. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,750.00 (€ 1,996.08) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Charles Cooper Henderson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ascot Races: Arriving; and Returning in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 42,500.00 (€ 54,061.86).

Noreen Drexel, Newport, R.I., The Estate of Van Cliburn, Fort Worth, TX durch, in der auch die Arbeit Louth-London Royal Mail von Charles Cooper Henderson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 2.750,00 (€ 1.996,08) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Charles Cooper Henderson erzielen.
